Here at the Ramada Duncan, there is no shortage of coffee!

In your room you will find a brand new Bev Coffee Maker and local coffee from Carrera which features 100% bio-degradable, and fully compostable coffee pods.
Or come down to the lobby to say Hi and help yourself to a complimentary coffee or tea every morning from 7am-11am for all our hotel guests. However, if you’re looking to venture off property during your stay we have listed here our favorite local coffee shops below.

Serious Coffee

Serious Coffee originated here in Duncan, but has now expanded to all over the island. They have a total of 20 stores on Vancouver Island, and one on the mainland in Powell River. They take serious pride in their bean roasting, and you won’t be disappointed. They buy their beans from all over the world, which are shipped to their roasting plant right here in Duncan guaranteeing freshness! Their teas are organically grown right here on Vancouver Island! When you stop in next, I’d definitely recommend you try their West Coast Wildberry tea, it’s my favorite! Make sure you check out their website for awesome tips on how to brew your own café-like experience coffee at home, and how to keep your beans fresh under “About Us & Our Beans.”

The Duncan Garage

The Duncan Garage is a café & bakery, located right in the downtown core, on Duncan Street just a 15 minute walk or 4 minute drive from the Hotel. This café is located right across the street from the Cowichan Valley Museum, and the old Duncan Railway Station, so you can grab some coffee and one of their yummy treats, walk across the street and learn some history! The Duncan Garage recently launched a new way to help keep the earth green. They reduce the use of single use cups by accepting donations of travel mugs, and coffee mugs! They also accept coffee mug trading! If you have a mug at home, clean it out and drop it off at the café on their dedicated shelf and if you see one you like, you can trade it!

Coffee On The Moon

Coffee On The Moon  is all about good vibes. They always make sure you’re experiencing an inviting atmosphere while you enjoy your coffee.  They have two locations, both in Duncan. One of their locations is a smaller satellite store conveniently located inside of the Cowichan Aquatic Centre, so you can grab a healthy snack and a coffee after going to the pool or the fitness center. Also, while you’re there is a perfect time to check out the world’s biggest hockey stick and puck located right across the street on the side of the Cowichan Community Center. Their other location is right downtown Duncan, on Canada Ave. It’s surrounded by tons of local shops so it’s a great place to meet up with friends, enjoy some coffee & a treat and go for a stroll. On a hot summer day make sure you try their smoothies or their iced coffees!

Fish Bowl Cafe

Fish Bowl Cafe is owned and operated by a local Cowichan Valley couple, Jeremy and Jessica Fetchko. They renovated the building into a fresh new urban style café and opened for business on October 1, 2016. They do all their baking every morning guaranteeing freshness, and we’re pleased to know they use tons of local ingredients! Their coffee and teas are also local, they use Black & White Coffee and North Cowichan Tea Farm tea. We love when businesses support local! The Fish Bowl Café is a perfect spot to go for lunch. They have daily specials which include pizza, two kinds of soups and a variety of sandwiches. After lunch, make sure you try one of their many yummy treats, which are so good that they’ll make you want to go back for more again and again!

While all these cafes have the ability to serve you great coffee, another thing they all have in common is always serving you with great costumer service! We are happy to have such great local coffee shops here in Duncan BC for our hotel guests to experience.
We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Let us know which one has your favorite drinks and treats!
